AccelD - CREATE program

The CREATE for Accelerated Discovery (AccelD) program is co-led by Prof Christine Allen at Acceleration Consortium (University of Toronto) et Prof Carlos Silva (Director of the Institut Courtois, FAS). This program is a national training initiative that prepares trainees to leverage artificial intelligence, automation, and data-driven approaches to accelerate scientific discovery and materials innovation. As these technologies reshape how research is conducted, the AccelD program equips participants with interdisciplinary skills spanning AI-enabled discovery workflows, responsible and sustainable research practices, and leadership and innovation. Through virtual workshops, collaborative training, and a national network of researchers and partners, participants gain the expertise needed to thrive in rapidly evolving academic, industry, and public sector environments.

Applications are now open for the September 2026 cohort, with a deadline of July 7, 2026.

The program is open to:

  • Undergraduate students
  • Graduate students
